Shantell Martin: Lines

Shantell Martin is one of the most lauded contemporary artist working today. Her drawings explore themes of identity and intersectionality and can be seen all over the world from the New York City Ballet to collaborations with Kendrick Lamar.

To inaugurate its newly renovated galleries, Sotheby’s invited Shantell to be the first artist to activate the space with her one-person performance, LINES. The interactive piece led the audience through an introspective and revealing journey that incorporated live and digital drawing, and music by the artist.
